Jennifer Seitzinger
Director of Programs
What sparked your desire to work in a senior living community?
When I started here as a receptionist, it was my first part-time job after my kids started school. For me at the time, it was just a job. But the residents become like family, and they are the reason I stay!
How do you decide which activities and programs to offer?
Resident feedback, upcoming holidays, and connecting and sharing with other local programming departments.
What are your residents top 3 favorite activities?
Live music, theme dinners, and happy hours.
What were your two best attended, most fun events over the past two years?
Annual “Shorewood County Fair,” parking lot concerts
What is your favorite activity to participate in with residents?
Any of the games. Residents from Assisted Living actually taught me how to play cribbage so I could join their games!
Are there programs the residents lead themselves?
We have wonderful residents who lead many of our Independent Living groups such as nurses club, ladies bible study, veterans coffee, crafts and card games. We encourage and support residents to lead programs they are personally interested in.
What sets your programming apart from the competition?
We get to know the residents’ needs and interests and program accordingly. We encourage independence by offering activity choices that promote our six areas of wellness.
